Festival du Lin
Linen festival website. The linen festival is organized every first july week-end in Normandy near Dieppe in the heart of flax growing production zone. I did exhibit there many years and will take part to it this year too for my shop 25th anniversary.
Route du Lin
Route du Lin located in the heart of Brittany countryside, regroups two museums one linen weaving one in Uzel and a former linen merchant manor home. Both are worth a visit, in french, to help understanding how flax and linen weaving made the wealth of Brittany in the past. Temporary events and textile exhibitions.
Musée de la Soie de Macclesfield
Macclesfield silk museum. The guided tour in a former silk workshop is really worth it. The guide knows his subject and has an interest in the social history of the local silk industry. Regular events linked with textile.
The Textile Society
The Textile Society promotes the study of textile disciplines and celebrates the history and culture of textiles, both traditional and contemporary. Established in 1982 as an educational charity, the Textile Society gives support to students, designers, historians and practitioners through its educational and professional awards.
